Pete has been a licensed massage therapist since 1997. His focus is in clinical sports massage therapy and soft tissue injury rehabilitation using Myofascial Therapy, Structural Integration, Neuromuscular Therapy, Kinesio® Taping and Active Isolated Stretching techniques. He is an active member in the Florida State Massage Therapy Association (FSMTA) and is nationally certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Pete is the FSMTA State Director of Sports Massage as well as the Coordinator of the FSMTA Tampa Bay Chapter Sports Massage Team. He participates with the Sports Massage Team at many Tampa Bay and statewide athletic competitions such as St. Anthony's Triathlon, Gasparilla Distance Classic and Ironman Florida. In August 2004, Pete traveled to Athens, Greece to participate on the Sports Massage Team for the 2004 Summer Games. More recently, Pete has provided sports massage services to the New York Yankees during 2006 Spring Training.
In addition to doing sports massage, Pete also teaches sports massage as an approved CE provider for both the State of Florida and the NCBTMB. He is also a Certified Kinesio® Taping Instructor. You can find his teaching schedule on his website, www.ultrasportsmassage.com.
Pete is an experienced ultrarunner with over 40 marathons and ultramarathons to his credit, including the 2000 Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Run finishing in under 24 hours. He is familiar with many common sports injuries and conditions, having had personal experience with many of them.
